Windshield Cracks in New Orleans, LA
WHAT TO DO IF YOUR WINDSHIELD CRACKS
Even if the chip or crack is small, you should look into a repair immediately.
A windshield repair is quick and affordable.Your insurance provider may even cover it at little or no cost to you while electing to waive deductibles up to $500.
If your windshield's damage is smaller than an inch in diameter, we can repair it before it worsens. In most scenarios small chips turn into a big crack before you know it. If that happens, you'll need a full windshield replacement. The cost of a repair is a small fraction of that of a replacement.
If you aren't satisfied with the repair, or the problem area spreads post-repair, the cost of the repair will go towards the cost of your replacement installation.
A small crack or chip in your windshield is enough to create a distraction while you are driving. Make sure you repair that chip as soon as possible so you have a clear view of the road ahead.
Call NOLA Auto Glass Pros. We'll dispatch a certified technician to your location of choice, or you can visit one of our service centers. Either way, we'll have you back on the road safely in no time.

Neighborhoods In New Orleans
MARIGNY
This was among New Orleans' first faubourgs – an early French term for suburb. Situated just downriver of the French Quarter, it fans out in wedge-shaped street patterns lined with brightly hued cottages dating from the early and mid-19th century. The commercial core runs along Frenchmen Street, now lined with live-music clubs and a handful of restaurants.
BAYOU ST. JOHN
This mostly residential neighbor- hood is scattered around the bayou, a lazy waterway flanked with grassy banks popular with dawdlers, picnickers and Frisbee-throwers. Expect crowds only during Jazz Fest, or the occasional other local festival. The rest of the year it's sleepy, grassy - good for walks and enjoying a casual meal at one of the neighborhood restaurants along Esplanade.
FRENCH QUARTER
New Orleans' original neighborhood, the French Quarter is about 12 blocks by six fronting a bend on the Mississippi River. It's home to world-class collection of early 19th century urban architecture, much of it influenced by French and Spanish styles. Royal Street is closed to cars and clotted with musicians during the day. At night, Bourbon Street gets gated off and the party runs late. Snoop around long enough, and you'll find everything – from dives to high-class cocktail lounges, from hot dog carts to internationally famous restaurants.
GARDEN DISTRICT
During the city's boomtown days in the mid-19th century, the merchant class abandoned the tight confines of the French Quarter for a leafy, airy part of town a couple miles upriver and linked by streetcar. The oversized lots encouraged the building of outsized Italianate homes surrounded by gardens, many of which remain to this day. The Lafayette Cemetery is one of the city's most picturesque, and the bars and restaurants of Magazine Street aren't far away.
CARROLLTON / RIVERBEND
Carrollton/Riverbend starts where the upriver-bound St. Charles streetcar makes a sharp right turn. Carrollton Avenue hereabouts is lined with grand live oaks and small thriving businesses. Make your way to Oak Street, which has the feel of a small-town main street hidden within city limits. Intriguing shop- ping and good restaurants abound; the Maple Leaf Bar hosts the legendary Rebirth Brass Band late on Tuesday nights.
ALGIERS POINT
Just across the river by ferry from the French Quarter ($1) is an historic neighborhood of bright bungalows and shotgun houses. It's worth an afternoon's detour; enjoy the short river crossing, then take a walk along the levee before diving into some of the side streets. Several neighborhood bars and restaurants near the ferry can provide sustenance before you set sail for downtown.
BYWATER
This largely residential neighborhood invariably finds itself in close proximity to the word “gentrifying.” What was once a haven for stevedores and other blue collar workers has been lately discovered by a new cadre of arrivals. (“Brooklyn on the Mississippi” is one term you might hear.) A dramatic new riverfront park is accessible via footbridge at the foot of Piety St. Nearly you'll find pizza, coffee, barbecue and other low-key dining options, with a concentration of good food and drink within a block or two of the intersection of Dauphine and Louisa Streets.
